The United States Service Academies Class of 2019
 

The Office of Military Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan is pleased to invite young Kazakhstanis to compete for appointment to the United States Service Academies (U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Coast Guard Academy) for the Class of 2019, which begins in the summer of 2015.   

Candidates must be unmarried and within the age limit of 17-23 years old as of July 1, 2015.  Appointees from Kazakhstan will sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan to return and serve in the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan for a specified period of time, and will earn a Bachelor of Science degree. Foreign students get the same training, pay, and allowances as U.S. citizens, and are subject to the same rules and regulations. 

Interested applicants must pass the Test of English as a Second Language (TOEFL); the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT Reasoning) or the American College Test (ACT); an Embassy-administered physical fitness test; a medical exam showing they are free of communicable diseases; and an interview administered by the U.S. Embassy in Astana.
