May 28, 2009
The U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan invites Kazakhstani entrepreneurs to attend one of two sessions of the Kazakhstan Franchise Forum 2009, presented by Mega Center in cooperation with Pizza Hut and Coffeedelia. The first session takes place at 9:00 a.m. on June 2 at the Hotel Kazakhstan in Almaty, and the second begins at 9:00 a.m. on June 3 at the U.S. Embassy in Astana. Organized by the U.S. Commercial Service and the Kazakhstan Franchise Agency, the Kazakhstan Franchise Forum 2009 is designed to inform Kazakhstani entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises, and government officials about the franchising business model, including how to get started. The forum will also provide information on franchise brands interested in entering the Kazakhstani market. This will be an excellent opportunity for Kazakhstani business people to find new and successful business opportunities in retail.
Mr. Charlie Weeks of the International Franchise Association will be the keynote speaker. He will provide a mini-MBA course in franchising, explaining all the details of how franchising works. U.S. Ambassador Richard Hoagland will discuss the economic importance of franchising, and Malaysian Ambassador Dato’ Saw Ching Hong will provide an overview of how his government successfully diversified its economy through franchising development policies. Other guest speakers will include experts in franchising, retail, commercial real estate, and successful franchising companies in Kazakhstan.
