US-Kazakhstani Anti-Trafficking Protocol Signed

On September 7, Richard E. Hoagland, U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan, signed a protocol to the Memorandum of Understanding on Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement between the United States and the Republic of Kazakhstan with Kazakhstani Minister of Internal Affairs, Serik Baimagambetov.  According to this supplementary protocol, the eighth signed since 2002, the U.S. Government will allocate $425,000 for further collaboration with Kazakhstan to fight illegal trafficking of narcotics, reduce demand for drugs, counter human trafficking, and tighten border security.
