U.S. Franchising Expert Attends Kazakhstan Franchise Forum 2009

From May 31-June 4, the International Franchise Association’s Charles Weeks visited Almaty and Astana.  Mr. Weeks was the keynote speaker at the Kazakhstan Franchise Forum 2009, an event held in both cities which brought together Kazakhstani entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises, and government officials.  The event was organized by the U.S. Commercial Service and the Kazakhstan Franchise Agency, and supported by Mega Center in cooperation with Pizza Hut and Coffeedelia.  The Forum provided an opportunity for Kazakhstani business people to find new and successful business opportunities in franchising.  In Almaty, Mr. Weeks also gave a lecture to undergraduate students at KIMEP, visited the Mega Center, and gave an interview to “Delovye Novosti.” 

During his visit to Astana, Mr. Weeks spoke to students and teachers at Eurasian National University and the Institute of Management and met with alumni of USG-sponsored programs, representatives of the Union of Entrepreneurs “Atameken,” and Akimat representative from Astana’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Industry.
