Education and Cultural Programs
The Cultural Section works with Kazakhstani governmental, cultural, and academic institutions, as well as indigenous NGOs, to promote greater exchange of information and individuals between Kazakhstan and the United States. It oversees the work of several U.S. Government — sponsored exchange organizations in Kazakhstan which carry out educational exchange programs.
Exchange programs are at the heart of the cultural section’s work. Academic, cultural, and professional exchanges are the most effective tools of public diplomacy. They seek to promote the free exchange of information and ideas and to increase mutual understanding between citizens of the United States and other countries.
