Business Visas
If you are traveling to the United States for business, you need to apply for a Business (B1) Visa.
There are no additional requirements beyond the General Documentation Requirements.
At the time of the interview, you may request a multiple entry, one year visa. There is an additional $69 fee for this type of visa.
EXPEDITED APPOINTMENTS for AmCham Members
In cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan (AmCham), U.S. Embassy Almaty maintains a Business Facilitation Program. The program is designed exclusively for members of AmCham and will enable member companies to obtain expedited business visa appointment times, streamlined processing, and enhanced access to Consular services.
Members of AmCham Kazakhstan can obtain an expedited appointment for employees of member companies applying for a business visa (B1). To take advantage of this program the following steps must be followed:
- E-mail at USAKZ@state.gov to make an appointment, identify yourself as a member of AmCham and explain the reason for expedited visa appointment. Please, attach a scanned copy of a letter from AmCham. The letter must be on the AmCham letterhead providing the name of the applicant, purpose and duration of the trip. The original should be brought for the interview or AmCham can send it directly to the Consular Section.
- If travel is urgent, you may request a special appointment time (Monday, Wednesday 14:00; Friday 11:00).
Please ensure that the interview appointment is made well enough in advance to anticipate unresolved issues that could delay the issuance of the visa.
